Get Down and Dirty at Kukerin

Creekbed and Burnout Championships

                                26 & 27th September 2009

Kukerin is a small town located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, 300kms south east of Perth.

On the long weekend in September every year our small community comes together to bring everyone a fun, enjoyable and actioned packed weekend.

Don't drink and drive come and camp out in your tent or camper on the grounds or in the local caravan park or snap up a room at the local pub.  Or if that doesn't sound like you come and visit us on the Sunday for all the action. Camping and entry all weekend $30pp, Sunday Entry $15pp, 15 years and under free entry.

The weekend begins on Saturday with the seasons long anticipated wait for the final victors of the AFL grand final played on the big screen in the wool shed and of course it wouldn't be right watching footy without a sausage sizzle in one hand and can in the other hand, both available for sale during the game.  Following the final roars, or commiserations, this is the perfect opportunity if your competing on Sunday to tweek and finalize the last minute tuning of your vehicles or if you are game enough or think your vehicle has what it takes there will be the opportunity for a possible test run ready to compete in Sundays creekbed competition.

Barney Rubbles bar and Mikey's Munchies opens for the services of hot/cold beverages and a great bite to eat for the evening with a band to entertain us and dance the night away to.  If your not into dancing then come on down and enjoy the music and local banter standing around one of the many malley-root fires we have burning away to keep you nice a warm.

If you are camping out for the weekend you will be woken on Sunday morning by the lovely smell of Bacon and Egg rolls cooked for you by one of our many volunteers or the noise of reved up engines, the smell of burning rubber/fuel and with a buzz in the air with both the Creekbed and the Burnout competitors all ready hyped to go.

Sunday's competition gets started about 10am, with registration and drivers meeting at 0800 which is a must for all competitors. The burnout out pad is kindly run and judged for us by the Narrogin Supermods/  Speedway who have done a fantastic job for us over the past few years.

Towards the end of the day the big smoke off begins for the top 5 burnout cars to battle it out for 1st spot.   Thanks to our few sponsors who make it possible to be able to award prizes and trophies at the end of the weekend for all catorgories wether it be  in the creek or on the pad for winning in a ute/car, a motor bike or even those home adapted vehicles or just for the precision, talent and perfect "bangs" of the tyres.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers, Ambulance officers and local Police who give up their time, not only for this weekend but for the weeks leading up to this weekend to give all of us, locals, returning veterans and all the new faces, a great weekend every year that we never forget.  Also to our large crowd of followers Pinjarra Crew, Team Bongo, King Brown Racing,  and all other individuals whom without a doubt bring us hours of laughter, exhilaration and heart pumping good fun.  Without our strong followers we would struggle to keep this great event running on a yearly basis, so Thank You, and we hope to see you in Kukerin in September.
